The
New Mexico Department of Health [1] is one of the agencies of the executive branch of New Mexico. The Mission of the Department is to improve health outcomes, promote health and wellness, and assure safety for all the people of the state.
There are 7 divisions in the Department, which consists of the Public Health Division, Scientific Laboratory Division, Epidemiology and Response Division, Division of Health Improvement (Health Facility & Certification), Administrative Services, Development Disabilities and Supports Division and Office of Facilities Management.
The health care facility of the state is strengthened through department activities that include contracted Primary and Rural Health care services, Emergency Medical Services, school-based health centers, Scientific Laboratory services, Health Statistics and Vital Records.
